Observations

Small things noticed carefully can reveal something bigger.

We Don't Always Want Clarity

Observation 01

We often say we want clarity, but frequently, what we actually want is a specific answer that confirms what we already hope for. True clarity is often uncomfortable because it strips away the illusions we use to protect ourselves. It requires us to look at the situation exactly as it is, without the tint of our desires or fears. When we stop searching for the 'right' answer and start looking at the 'actual' state of things, we begin to see the path forward, even if it’s not the one we initially wanted to take. Clarity isn't about knowing everything; it's about seeing what is right in front of us without looking away.

Observation 02

The Story Changes

We often think that the facts of our lives are fixed. But when we observe how we tell the story of what happened, we see that the narrative shifts depending on where we are standing now. Observation allows us to see the storytelling in real-time. It reveals that the meaning we assign to an event is not the event itself. As we change, the story changes. By watching the story unfold without needing to defend it, we find the room to let a new, more honest narrative begin.
